Senior Law Clerk
Alexandria (Allie) Hakala is a dedicated law school graduate specializing in post-conviction relief, currently pending licensure. Her pursuit of a legal career was driven by a deep commitment to rectifying wrongful convictions and other miscarriages of justice. Allie earned her Juris Doctor from the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University and holds a Master's degree in Applied Social Research from Cleveland State University, with a focus on incarceration and its broad social impacts. Her academic background provides a comprehensive understanding of systemic issues affecting the criminal legal system and informs her ability to identify unique avenues of relief for post-conviction clients.
During her time in law school, Allie worked as a Rule 39 Certified Limited Practice Student Attorney in the Post-Conviction Clinic, where she gained experience challenging flawed convictions in the Arizona Court of Appeals and successfully advocated for clients before the Board of Executive Clemency. As she awaits licensure, Allie remains committed to using her legal training and research expertise to fight for people affected by criminal convictions and support meaningful change in the justice system.
